3. For Applicants with Teaching Qualifications
Chinese Language Teaching Position
To qualify as a Trained Teacher (Chinese Language) in our schools, candidates must possess a professional teaching qualification that includes a teaching practicum, meeting all necessary programme and teacher accreditation requirements, such as:
- Diploma in Education
- Degree in Education
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education

- This application is for the Trained Teacher (Chinese Language) position.
- Applications submitted outside the application windows will be processed together with other applications received in the following window.
- If you are interested to teach other subjects, refer to Trained Teacher (Other Teaching Subjects) or Trained Teacher (Tamil Language).
- If you are interested in a part-time or contract-based teaching role, consider applying as an adjunct teacher.

For successful applicants, your school posting will be subject to the Ministry’s organisational requirements.
Applicants for Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) teaching positions may be required to take the English Language (EL) Entrance Proficiency Test. Although our MTL teachers teach primarily in their MTL in class, they are required to have basic proficiency in English. This proficiency enables them to interact with colleagues, parents and students from diverse linguistic backgrounds in the school environment.

School Posting
Your school posting is subject to the Ministry's organisational requirements and vacancies available. Those assigned to teach at the Secondary or Junior College level may be deployed to the Primary level in the course of your service with the Ministry, if the organisation requires it of you.
