Information for PE Applicants

PE Physical Proficiency Test (PE PPT)
The PE PPT will be held at the National Institute of Education (NIE), on the following dates (subject to change) in 2025:
- 5 Mar 2025
- 2 Jul 2025
- 1 Oct 2025
- 5 Nov 2025
You will be notified at least 2 weeks before the test date. Only applicants who have successfully registered for the PPT will sit for the test.
If you are unavailable for the PPT, rescheduling of the PPT is on a case-by-case basis. Please write in to us for further assistance.
Physical Proficiency Test (PPT) components
You will be required to pass all 5 components:
- Agility run
- Badminton
- Possession game
- Gymnastics
- Swimming

Cost and test results
The PPT costs $10.90 (inclusive of GST). You will receive your Statement of Result about 2 weeks after the test date. Tests results cannot be reviewed. The PPT result is valid for 2 years from the date of the test.All applicants being considered for the teaching of PE are required to sit for and pass the PPT, and meet other selection requirements (e.g., interview).
