Bachelor of Arts in Chinese and Linguistics and Multilingual Studies
During this four-year degree programme, undergraduates will read both Linguistics and Multilingual Studies (LMS) and Chinese (CHN), benefiting from the expertise and resources of both Programmes within the School of Humanities (SoH). For Chinese, students will study both classical and modern Chinese literature, a deeper understanding of Chinese language, and a broader perspective on Modern China and the Chinese diaspora in Southeast Asia. The programme aims to equip students with multidisciplinary research skills and bilingual capabilities. The Linguistics and Multilingual Studies curriculum allows students to explore the many interesting facets of language and communication, from the properties of speech sounds to grammatical and discourse structure, from children’s language development to communication in bilingual and multilingual societies.
