1. Overview

The Junior Sports Academy (JSA) programme is part of our provision for primary school students with higher abilities in the physical domain. It provides opportunities for these students to participate and learn about various sports while discovering their sporting strength and interests.

With this knowledge and experience, students can make more informed choices and pursue a sport with more targeted support from relevant sports organisations from secondary school onwards.

How it works:

  • Participation in the JSA programme is by selection only.
  • Your child may be nominated for the selection trial by you or their teachers.
  • Nominations must be done through your child’s school.
  • The programme will be conducted from Semester 2 of Primary 4 to Semester 1 of Primary 6, where they will be exposed to total of 4 different sports during this period.

Who can apply

Primary 4 and Primary 5 students who are generally fit and healthy.

Your child does not need to have specific sports skills or be proficient in any particular sport. The focus of this programme is to expose students who are good movers to a variety of sports.

Programme schedule

Students in the JSA programme will participate in sport modules. Each sport module is conducted on Saturdays over 1 semester. Students also go through sports education modules where they will learn about sports science.
