Engineering and Tech Programme Scholarship (ETPS)
This scholarship is awarded to Pre-University students who have strong foundations in mathematics and science, with an inclination towards applied, interdisciplinary and hands-on learning.
About ETPS
It is awarded for 2 years. The award covers an annual allowance of $1,000 and school fees based on Singapore Citizen's rates less any subsidies, subject to an annual cap of $2,400, as long as the student meets the renewal criteria and remains enrolled in ETPS. Only Singapore Citizens are eligible.
Who is eligible
Singapore Citizens who:
- Have done consistently well in school and obtained outstanding results in mathematics and science subjects (e.g. at least A2 for a mathematics and a science subject) at the GCE O-level examinations or equivalent based on the school's internal assessment
- Have good co-curricular activities record, particularly in STEM areas
- Have good conduct record
Additional requirements
For scholarship recipients taking the GCE A-Level examinations, you must offer H2 Mathematics and at least one of the following subjects:
- H2 Physics
- H2 Computing
- H2 Further Mathematics
For scholarship recipients taking International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), you must offer Mathematics and either Physics or Computing at higher level for IB.
For scholarship recipients in NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, you must offer Mathematics and either Physics or Computing as a major subject.
Programme expectation
All scholarship recipients are expected to fulfil the following:
- Participate in the 1-week ETPS Flagship STEM workshop to be conducted between late-December of first year and mid-January of second year of scholarship
- Participate in a work attachment/ internship programme in June or December of second year of scholarship
Scholarship recipients will also be strongly encouraged to participate in a hands-on engineering-related project or learning activity of student’s choice within the duration of the scholarship. Some examples include participation in the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC), Singapore Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) or equivalent.
Scholars must not be concurrent recipients of any other MOE scholarships except the Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools (ESIS).

How to apply
Application for 2025 cycle starts on Friday, 10 January and ends at 11.59pm on Monday, 24 February 2025. No offline applications will be accepted after application period ends.
To apply for the scholarship, a valid SingPass account with 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is required to access the application system. Details on the application for a SingPass can be found on the SingPass website. As the set up for SingPass Myinfo may not be immediate, we strongly encourage students to complete your SingPass application early to avoid encountering technical issues close to application closing.
Log in to the application system through your Singpass and register as a new user to create an account using your personal valid email account. After your account has been successfully created, you may log in using your Singpass to access the application form.

As part of your scholarship application, you are required to describe no more than three STEM-related engineering-focused activities (these may include, but are not limited to, school-organized events, self-initiated projects, or informal experiences e.g., online courses) that you have engaged in and share what you have learned from these activities and how they have influenced your interest in engineering and technology. Your response should not exceed 200 words in total.
Selection for interview
If you are in the Integrated Programme, you will be invited for the scholarship selection interview based on your school's internal assessment and recommendation.
For all other students, you will be invited for the scholarship selection interview based on your GCE O-Level examination results and school's recommendation.
Announcement of results
Successful candidates will be notified in June.
