More students will have the same PSLE Score, and schools will be less differentiated based on cut-off points under the revised PSLE scoring system.
Choice order is introduced as a tie-breaker to recognise the different considerations that families have in making school choices.
S1 Posting Tie-Breakers (in order of priority)
- Citizenship (priority given to Singapore Citizens, followed by Permanent Residents and International Students)
- Choice order of schools
- Computerised balloting
How will S1 Posting work?
Posting to secondary school will still be based on your child’s PSLE Score. Your child can submit up to 6 different school choices, in order of preference.
Tie-breakers are used only if there are two or more students with the same PSLE Score vying for the last available place(s) in a school.
As with the previous T-score system, if your child takes HCL in primary school, there will be a posting advantage for admissions to SAP schools.
The affiliation advantage will continue under the new system.
DSA-Sec allows students to apply to schools before taking the PSLE. Students apply based on their talent in sports, CCAs and specific academic areas.
