Name and Constituency of Member of Parliament
Mr Christopher de Souza, Holland-Bukit Timah GRC
Question
To ask the Minister for Education whether he can provide a status update on the resumption of in-person Co-Curricular Activity in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.
Response
1. In-person Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) at the secondary schools, junior colleges, Millennia Institute and the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) have progressively resumed since 10 August 2021, adhering to prevailing safe management measures.
2. For CCAs that are unable to do so given the higher risk settings, such as choir and wind instruments, schools have pivoted them online to continue the learning for our students.
3. As most of our students in the primary schools are not yet eligible for COVID-19 vaccination, in-person CCAs in primary schools remain suspended for now as an additional precautionary measure. MOE will continue to monitor the situation closely and assess when in-person CCAs can resume safely for primary school students.
