Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang, Nee Soon GRC
Question
To ask the Minister for Education what is the percentage of schools and tertiary education institutions that currently have (i) a lactation room and (ii) a suitable room for nursing mothers to use, respectively.
Response
1. About 95% of primary schools, 80% of secondary schools and 90% of junior colleges/centralised institutes have a lactation room, while the remaining schools have a suitable room for nursing mothers to use. For these remaining schools, MOE is working with them to set up dedicated lactation rooms.
2. All autonomous universities, polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) campuses are equipped with at least one lactation room.
