Ms Nadia Ahmad Samdin, Ang Mo Kio GRC

Question

To ask the Minister for Education whether sexuality education in schools can incorporate menstrual health as part of the curriculum considering the low awareness of how existing symptoms may reflect potential fertility issues later in life.

Response

1. Through Sexuality Education, Primary 5 students learn about the physiological changes that occur during puberty, such as menstruation. Students are also educated on human reproduction and issues related to menstrual health in Lower Secondary Science and Upper Secondary Biology.
