Name and Constituency of Member of Parliament

Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang, Nee Soon GRC

Question

To ask the Minister for Education for each year in the past five years, how many foreign students have been unable to pay their school fees and are removed from the primary school and secondary school they studied in, respectively.

Response

1. Over the past 5 years, on average, 0.2% of international students were not allowed to continue their study in MOE schools due to fees arrears that remain unpaid despite repeated reminders.

2. International students who require financial assistance can approach their schools, community, or welfare organisations for advice on assistance that is available to them.
