Minister for Education’s Visit to Switzerland from 6-9 June 2018

1.Minister for Education Ong Ye Kung will make a working visit to Switzerland, from 6 to 9 June 2018.

2. During the visit, Mr Ong will be speaking at the 3rd International Congress on Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) on the topic of building a society that values skills mastery.

3. Mr Ong will also be meeting with Head of Switzerland's Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, Mr Johann N. Schneider-Ammann; President of the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK), Dr Silvia Steiner; and United States Secretary of Education, Ms Betsy DeVos.

4. In addition, Mr Ong will be meeting Swiss education officials, and will visit various tertiary institutions, schools, and companies. Educational institutions that Mr Ong will visit include ABB Technikerschule, Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), and the Zurich Teaching Association ICT (ZLI).

5. Mr Ong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Education and Temasek Polytechnic.
