Close to 1,300 Student-Athletes Recognised for Sporting Achievement at Colours Award 2021

1,298 student-athletes will be recognised for their sporting achievements and good character at the 51st Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC) Colours Award1. Despite disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, close to 12,000 student-athletes have returned to courts and fields to train and compete in 11 non-contact sports2 under this year's National School Games.
2. This year's Colours Awards are based on student's sporting performance from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021. The criteria for the awards are listed in Annex A, and recipients for the SSSC Best Sportsboy and Best Sportsgirl Awards are listed in Annex B. In all, the Awards will be presented to:
- 15 students from 12 schools, who will receive the SSSC Best Sportsboy Award and SSSC Best Sportsgirl Award;
- 38 students from 21 schools, who will receive the SSSC Colours Award (Distinction); and
- 1,245 students from 78 schools, who will receive the SSSC Colours Award.
3. In view of prevailing safe management measures, the Awards will be presented to the recipients by their respective schools during suitable school-based ceremonies. The Ministry of Education will continue to closely monitor the public health situation and work towards the safe resumption of the NSG 2022, if conditions permit.
