Last Updated: 28 Sep 2024
The Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC) launched the second song collection under Project 'Orang Singapura – Bersatu!' on Saturday, 28 September 2024, at Wisma Geylang Serai. Guest-of-Honour Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, Second Minister for Education, delivered a speech at the launch event.
2 Commissioned by MLLPC, Project 'Orang Singapura – Bersatu!' aims to promote the learning and appreciation of Singapore's cultural heritage through a curated collection of 10 songs by the late Mr. Zubir Said, one of Singapore's key musical figures and composer of the national anthem. The song collection has been rearranged by local music producer Reyza Hamizan of 6 Strings Studio, and sung by talented local artistes including Ainul Yaqin, Suryana Norddin, Syahriszuan and Reyza Hamizan.
3 Project 'Orang Singapura – Bersatu!' builds upon the success of last year's 'Orang Singapura' project, which similarly launched a compilation of 10 songs by Mr Zubir Said. This year's song collection will be distributed to all schools and Institutes of Higher Learning. It will also be made accessible to the larger community through online music sharing platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
