Termination or closure of your school

You will need to notify us if your school is terminated or closed. Learn how to notify us and the documents required.

Overview

Only an existing member of your school’s Committee of Management is allowed to apply to terminate or close the main school.Your school should be discharged of all the obligations to students and staff before terminating or closing the school.

How to notify us

You will need to notify us of your school’s termination online via GoBusiness using your company’s CorpPass..

Follow these steps when registering:

  1. Go to ‘Licences’ menu and select ‘My Licences’ from the drop-down list. Search for your existing licence (i.e., “Licence No.: DXXXX • MOE”) which you would like to amend.
  2. Under the ‘Select Action’ click ‘Cancel’.
  3. Confirm your school’s ‘General Information’, you may update your email address and contact number if needed.
  4. Click on the ‘Application Details’ to move to next section.
  5. Follow the steps on the screen to complete the application.

Documents required and how to submit

Upload the following documents (each attachment file must not exceed 1MB in size) via the GoBusiness online application:

1. Latest business profile from Bizfile+

File format  PDF 
File name format Name_of_School_Bizfile.pdf
Example ABC_Tuition_Centre_Pte_Ltd_Bizfile.pdf

2. One of the following, stating that all obligations to students and staff have been discharged, duly signed and dated by all partners or directors:

  • Note from owner, if sole-proprietorship
  • Note from partners, if ownership is a partnership business or a limited liability partnership
  • Directors' Resolution, if ownership of school is a company

Note to also include the effective date of closure and reason for closure.

Please upload the Original Certificate of Registration of School and Classroom Accommodation Certificates, if available. After you submit your documents

We will notify you through email once your request has been processed. Alternatively you can check the status through GoBusiness.

Closure of Private School’s Additional Branch/Unit(s)

You will need to notify us if wish to close your school’s additional branch/unit(s).

How to notify us

You will need to notify us of your school’s termination online via GoBusiness using your company’s CorpPass..

  1. Go to ‘Licences’ menu and select ‘My Licences’ from the drop-down list. Search for your existing licence (i.e., “Licence No.: DXXXX • MOE”) which you would like to amend.

  3. Confirm your school’s ‘General Information’, you may update your email address and contact number if needed.
  4. Click on the ‘Application Details’ to move to next section.
  5. Click on the radio button for ‘Closure of Private School’s Additional Branch School/Unit(s)’.
  6. Follow the steps on the screen to complete the application.
