2. How to apply

Eligibility criteria

Your child is eligible to participate if they:

  • Are a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident returning from living and studying overseas.
  • Have completed the equivalent of Secondary 4 education overseas.
  • Do not have a place in a local school.
  • Are 16 to 20+ years old as of 1 January of the year of admission to the junior college (JC) or Millennia Institute (MI).
  • Did not sit for SPERS-JC/MI tests previously.

If your child has a JC or MI school place reserved under the Leave of Absence (LOA) scheme, you should email or call their school for readmission. Your child should not participate in SPERS-JC/MI.

When to apply

You can apply for SPERS-JC/MI from Tuesday, 9 July 2024 to Friday, 18 October 2024.

The tests are conducted within a day and will be held on Thursday, 7 November 2024.

How to apply

You can apply for SPERS-JC/MI through the following steps:

  1. Submit an online application.
  2. Receive an email from the Principals Academy with information on index number and payment instructions.
  3. Follow the instructions in the email and make payment via one of these modes:
    • Credit card
    • Cheque
    • PayNow
  4. You will receive a confirmation email from the Principals Academy if your application is approved and payment is successful. The confirmation email will also include your child's:
    • SPERS-JC/MI entry pass
    • Test timetable
    • Test venue
All applications are subject to approval.

How much is it

Singapore Citizens

The test fee is waived. However, a $12 administrative fee is still applicable.

Permanent Residents

The test fee is $160.

Fees are non-refundable.
