Advanced Micro Devices (Singapore) Pte Ltd
AMD is the high performance and adaptive computing leader, powering the products and services that help solve the world’s most important challenges. Our technologies advance the future of the data center, embedded, gaming and PC markets.
Founded in 1969 as a Silicon Valley start-up, the AMD journey began with dozens of employees who were passionate about creating leading-edge semiconductor products. AMD has grown into a global company setting the standard for modern computing, with many important industry firsts and major technological achievements along the way.
Potential career path and developmental opportunities for scholars
At AMD, their two-year rotational program will put you in the middle of everything. While gaining a wide scope of experience, you will work on all phases of our product lifecycle. Every 2 to 3 months, you will move to a new area that could cover test, product development, product implementation, product reliability and failure analyses. You will work with amazing people across the organization and work with your mentor to define your career path.
The Product Development track is an 18-month entry level, multi-rotational program focused on building technical competency within AMD’s full product lifecycle of product definition, characterization, test, device analysis, prototype samples generation, product reliability qualification and program implementation.
Some roles you will be handling during this rotational program will be below:
- Test Engineering (TE) involves test program development, characterization, and test point determination, on both System Level Test (SLT) and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) hardware. Engage in the fun of debugging Diagnostic suite and test patterns to materialize an effective test flow to screen out rejects from the good parts.
- Product Engineering (PE) involves yield engineering and product definition work to maximize performance and quality while minimizing costs via dynamic data analyses with machine-learning methods.
- Product Implementation (PI) involves taking charge of the product bring-up and sampling cycles, meticulous planning from wafer fab-out to final tested packaged parts shipment to internal and external customers. Have fun learning the dependencies of TE and PE work and shaping the schedule of prototype engineering samples delivery to internal and external customers.
In addition, Xilinx is the inventor of the FPGA, hardware programmable SoCs and the ACAP (Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform), designed to deliver the most dynamic processor technology in the industry and enable the adaptable, intelligent and connected world of the future in a multitude of markets including Data Center (Compute, Storage and Networking); Wireless/5G and Wired Communications; Emulation & Prototyping; and others.
Join their engineers to develop highly flexible and adaptive processing platforms that enable rapid innovation across a variety of technologies - from the endpoint to the edge to the cloud. Their core strengths simultaneously address major industry trends including the explosion of data, heterogeneous computing after Moore's Law, and the dawn of artificial intelligence (AI).
Whether you are an individual contributor or people manager, AMD has career paths for you to progress your career to the next levels.
