Potential career path and developmental opportunities for scholars

Through SgIS, the scholars will be selected for four broad roles in the organization: Marketing, Procurement, Environmental and Social Impact (E&S) and Human Resources. Scholars will be directly assigned to a mentor to assist them in their role and provide hands on experience through job shadowing.

Under the marketing/procurement umbrella, scholars will learn about the ins and outs of international trade and gain knowledge in the areas of Product Expertise, Quality Management, Client Development and Management, Lead Generation as well as Shipping and Logistics.

Under E&S and Human Resources, scholars will be exposed to the management of hundreds of full time and thousands of part time employees around the globe, especially concentrated in the African Continent. They shall gain knowledge on international standards for environmental and social management systems as well as hands on experience in implementing these systems in various countries. They will also be exposed to cutting edge "Smart Farming" solutions that are being deployed in Africa amongst our farmers to help in various aspects of Sustainable Farming. They will also be at the forefront of educating farmers directly on the best sustainable agricultural practices.
