Alisha Hadirah The true essence of learning takes place when one is able to transfer and apply learning beyond the walls of the classroom. A keen learner, Alisha has shown at the age of 12, the capability and competence in applying her learning and skills attained in school back at home. Besides helping out with household chores, Alisha also guides her two younger siblings in developing their daily living skills. The functional curriculum and programmes in school have provided Alisha with the platform to pick up daily living skills and to meaningfully apply them at home. Being a good role model for her two younger siblings and exemplifying school values as one of the Assistant Head Prefects, Alisha has shown that with commitment and resilience, students from SPED schools can play an important role in the community and society. |
Mohammad Sheyzad Sheyzad received the Model Student Award in 2020 for his outstanding display of the school values — Respect, Resilience, Integrity and Commitment. He also received the Student Talent, Achievement and Recognition (STAR) Award in 2020, for his contribution and achievement in his CCAs — Soccer, Swimming and Circus Arts. As the school’s Head Prefect, Sheyzad is an exemplary student who showed perseverance against the odds to excel. Despite having to travel 2 hours to school daily, Sheyzad is disciplined in following through his own schedule to ensure that he has sufficient sleep daily and be punctual in attending school. Embodying the school motto “We can Achieve”, Sheyzad’s self-discipline not only helps him to excel but also motivates his peers to achieve their goals. |
Brayden Liew Jun Wen Brayden Liew is an exemplary reflection of Resilience, one of the school’s core values. Adjusting well in his transition from a mainstream primary school to Katong School, Brayden has transformed from being reserved and shy to a socially competent student, always lending a helping hand to his peers and teachers, with a smile. His resilience to adapt and excel has seen him take on key responsibilities well as a prefect. His maturity and responsible nature makes him a role model to his peers, especially his classmates as they prepare for transition to secondary school. |
