Planning Division
Formulates and reviews education policies, analyses key MOE data and stakeholder perspectives to support policy decision-making, and charts and reviews processes to achieve MOE’s mission and its contribution to wider whole-of-Government objectives. It also oversees and develops MOE’s international strategy and relations.
Functions
EDUCATION POLICY BRANCH
- Supports the formulation, review and implementation of cross-cutting education policies across areas including the general education landscape, structure and programmes, language policies, compulsory education, special education, and preschool education.
- Analyses key MOE data to support policy development and review.
- Contributes to key inter-agency/whole-of-Government platforms on social policies.
- Provides administrative and support functions, which include secretariat support for the Ministerial Committee Meeting (MCM), Committee-of-Supply debate (COS), and Parliamentary sittings (where relevant to MOE).
STRATEGIC PLANNING OFFICE
- Oversees MOE’s strategic planning.
- Stewards the MOE agenda and drives whole-of-MOE coordination.
INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION BRANCH
- Charts MOE’s overall strategy and engagement in regional and international educational matters.
- Strengthens Singapore’s educational relations and engagement with other countries.
- Manages MOE’s participation in multilateral fora.
- Coordinates international profiling efforts of MOE.
- Provides protocol advice to MOE for the hosting of visits/briefings and the organisation of overseas trips.
