Contract Adjunct Teaching Scheme
As a Contract Adjunct Teacher, you can be assigned teaching or a mix of both teaching and CCA duties, depending on the needs of the school.
Roles and responsibilities
You can be assigned teaching duties only or a mix of both teaching and CCA duties, depending on the needs of the school. Duties of the Contract Adjunct Teacher have to be agreed upon between the school and the teacher.
Requirements
Applicants must be former MOE teachers.
Contract duration
Contract duration is between 1 to 1.5 years. Subsequent contracts are renewed on a yearly basis, subject to your performance and organisational requirements.
Workload
You can be assigned full or partial workload, depending on the needs of the school. Partial workload arrangement has to be agreed upon between you and the school before the commencement of duty. As a Contract Adjunct Teacher on partial workload terms, you will have pro-rated remuneration and benefits.
Salary and benefits
You will be eligible for:
- Medical and dental benefits
- Commitment incentive, subject to meeting minimum performance expectations
- Standard salary increment upon contract renewal
- Bonuses, such as Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance, and other variable bonuses.
- Time off during school holidays, as long as your services are not required during that time.
- 14 days of medical leave (without hospitalisation), and up to 60 days of hospitalisation leave.
- 10 days of urgent leave for private matters, subject to approval.

The school will forward your application to MOE for processing during the application window. The typical processing time is about 8 to 10 weeks from the date the school submits your application to MOE.
MOE is the formal approving authority for appointment of Contract Adjunct Teachers.
