Teaching in MOE Kindergarten for untrained applicants
1. Overview
If you do not have the required Early Childhood qualifications to teach in a kindergarten setting, you can still become an MOE Kindergarten (MK) teacher through the MOE Kindergarten Teacher Training Programme (MK TTP).

- While the MK Teacher role is a rewarding one, it also comes with expectations and demands at work. Applicants should have the fitness and stamina to deliver lessons, and resilience required to engage children safely and carry out their duties effectively. As part of application processing, candidates may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination.
- If you are an O-Level holder, you may apply for the Tamil Language Teacher Training Sponsorship, to teach Tamil Language at MKs.
Salary and benefits
- Your starting salary will range from $2,700 to $4,100, from the commencement of your training programme. Your exact salary takes into consideration your experience, academic training, and whether you have completed full-time National Service.
- Course fees will be sponsored by MOE.
- During training, you will receive a one-off grant of $1,050 for study related expenses.
- After successfully completing the MK TTP, you will be eligible for a salary top-up.

- Bonuses, such as Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance, performance bonus (when trained) and other variable bonuses.
- The MKE Commitment Payment, an incentive programme that recognises your dedication with pay-outs at milestones of service in MK.
- Time off during school holidays, if your services are not required during that time.
- Subsidised medical and dental benefits.
- 14 days of medical leave without hospitalisation, and up to 60 days with hospitalisation.
- 10 days of urgent leave for private matters, subject to approval.
