“Ready, Get Set —Explore!” Immersing in a World of Possibilities with the STAR ProgrammeBy Natalie Tow
Compassvale Secondary School
Tinkering with the controls in the cockpit of a plane. Building a remote-controlled car from scratch. Making pasta by hand. Learning how to solve crimes. A world of possibilities awaits our Secondary 3 students at our school’s signature STAR Programme.
Over three days, our students took part in various Applied Learning Modules organised by polytechnics and education institutions. From learning about aerospace and automotive engineering to building games in virtual reality and exploring the ocean’s marine biology, our students took bold steps into the world around them, exploring the possibilities that lie ahead in their future paths.

WDL GlocalCitizenry Program - Bridging Borders: A Journey of Friendship and ContributionBy Tay Yong Chiang
Woodlands Secondary School
During their visit to a primary school in a Cambodian village, Woodlands Secondary School students formed lasting friendships and connections with the local students.
Beyond contributions like paving floors and teaching English, the students from both schools had the opportunity to interact, share experiences, and learn from one another. As they worked together and spent time getting to know each other, a strong bond was formed, transcending cultural and language barriers.
These newfound friendships not only enriched the lives of our students, but also highlighted the importance of empathy, understanding, and unity, leaving a deep impact on both groups of students.
