Flourishing as One

Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary)
Teacher Facilitator: Desiree Tham Xue Ping

Grades are not the primary measure of one’s success. It is our ambitions that bring us far.

In Fairfield, dreams have no limits. The Fairfield Learning Experience (FLEX) Challenge encourages us to step out of our comfort zones and explore new possibilities. Through experiences such as drone programming and playing in a guitar ensemble, we get the chance to express ourselves freely. Taught by experienced professionals, we can pick up different skills. These opportunities not only unlock hidden potential but also nurture existing abilities.

Every Fairsian is capable of excelling in their way and flourishing in this world of possibilities.

The Realm of Endless Potential

‘It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.’ – Walt Disney.

What was once thought as impossible for youths to experience is no longer far-fetched. We are presented with boundless opportunities that were not possible in the past. Even when Covid-19 led to shut doors, schools opened their doors for students to learn and grow.

From Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) to overseas research opportunities, we are given the chance to pursue our passions. We can dance, lead, do sports, self-express… the possibilities are endless.

When we look at our own reflections, we see the future versions of ourselves.

HONOURABLE MENTION
The World as Our Classroom
By Lucas Chan, Zelig Teo (Zhang Rengkai), and Lau Sing Leong
Juying Secondary School
Teacher Facilitator: Amanda Foo Limin

At Juying Secondary School, we believe that our education is not limited to our classrooms.

Through outdoor programmes, we interact with people of different backgrounds and cultures, connect with our community, and exchange knowledge with and understand people who are different from us.

Thus, our story is not confined to just our little red dot. With this belief, opportunities open a world of possibilities, and we need to have an open mind towards making the world our classroom.
