Our School Community

Let us shine a spotlight on our extended school family. From community and industry partners to parent-volunteers and non-teaching staff, they enrich our students’ learning experiences, and inspire them to give back to society.

Bridging Hearts in Chiang Mai
By Ms Ng San San
River Valley High School

JC1 students and teachers embarked on an unforgettable Values-in-Action trip to Chiang Mai, the first overseas trip since the pandemic. This experience fostered cross-cultural understanding as we interacted with Thai children and teachers.

Our students planned and conducted fun and enriching activities for their younger Thai counterparts, who reciprocated with enthusiasm and joy. The trip was filled with wonderful memories, shared laughter, and new friendships.

Above all, the warmth and hospitality of our Thai friends deeply touched everyone, leaving a lasting impact and a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to connect and grow together in this sojourn.

More Than Just Games: Learning Life Lessons Together as One TKGS Family

The Sports Carnival is more than just a competition; it unites students and staff, bringing everyone together to represent their houses and aim for victory.

For competitors, it is a test of physical prowess, trust and teamwork. To their housemates, it is about cheering from the sidelines – friends, schoolmates and teachers supporting each other, fostering a sense of camaraderie.

Beyond the medals and cheers, the Sports Carnival teaches students how to collaborate effectively, communicate under pressure and lead with empathy.

I believe these are the core skills and values that prepares students for the world stage and making it a better place.

Unsung Heroes
By Mdm Nurnadia Binte Abdolah
Northbrooks Secondary School

Anyone who hears the question 'Who are the people who make up a school?' would most readily reply 'Teachers and students'.

What we tend to easily forget is the fact that, behind the scenes of any school, lies a formidable team of unsung heroes who work hard every day to ensure the school runs like a well-oiled machine.

Here, every individual who makes up our school community – canteen vendors, cleaning staff, administrative staff, dedicated teachers and students – matters.

We all have an important part to play in creating what we call 'home'.
